Hi there,

I do not use WorldPay but today I tried to make a purchase using it, and notice a big hole in it.

Located in Belgium, I tried to pay with my Portuguese Visa Card. They declined it, even tough everything was correct and I use my card to pay EVERYTHING around, online and offline. (my ip should have been the reason anyways.)

So, moving forward... The transaction was declined but.... (drums).... I was authorized in the web site I was buying from!!

Worldpay sent details to their system as if I paid, even though the transaction was declined!

Check this out:

They might manually check your order and authorized it ?

Thank God we went with Barclays Bank merchant Account. We were furious when Worldpay tried to shaft us for nearly £2000GBP but in retrospect Boy oh Boy, are we glad!!

I would advise anyone who wants a reliable and pretty cheap Merchant Account to try Barclays EPDQ services, excellent.

Here is the link to their merchant Accounts www.epdq,co,uk

Barclays only ask for the money 8 weeks after your account is up and running --Before that time not one single penny or cent!!

worldpay is (or rather was) international .. they are limiting themselves to the EU only now.

However barclays is only reserved for UK merchants ...

Barclays have just changed the rules on EPDQ,they have expanded, so who knows they may be prepared to take on other countries as there are branches of Barclays all the World over. You could always try them, the Merchant account office is pretty friendly (For a bank;..LOL)

I find chronopay as an ideal solution for EU, they're accepting majority of cards and providing excellent service.
