Ok guys - Im at a point now where I can no longer manually track my visitors progress through my website by studying the server log. It's simply to huge.

So what options do I have? What would you guys reccomend?

I am looking for something quite comprhensive in the way of site statistics, referals, bot tracking and user movements.

Any thoughts - suggestions - opinions would be appreciated.

Do you host your own site?
If yes, WebTrends is very useful.

If not, I definitely suggest awstat or webalizer (both free).

Webalizer's kind of difficult to configure on the first try (documentation is minimal).

Once you've configured Webalizer, it's easy to customize giving you loads of information with highly flexibile filters, grouping, hiding etc...

One of the key benefits of the filters is to ignore visits that you or your company make internally; so you see true visitor stats.

It can also rank the most trafficked pages, search terms used to find your pages, entry pages, exit pages, etc...

Loads of useful stuff...

Personally I use

www.adminder.com
www.humanclick.com in conjunction together I get a really good grasp on where folks are coming from, how long they are staying, what pages they are on and can also engage them in active chats based on what they are searching for by keywords entered into the serach engines
